Stressed Out

(Luke 21:34 NIV) “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.

Stress is

(Luke 10:41-42 NLT) But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Stress is

(2 Corinthians 4:8 NLT) We are pressed on every side by troubles… We are perplexed…

about your stress

(2 Corinthians 4:8 NLT) We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.

(Psalm 118:5-6a NLT) In my distress I prayed to the LORD, and the LORD answered me and set me free. 6 The LORD is for me…

it

(2 Corinthians 11:14 NLT) But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

“Not all good opportunities are God opportunities.”

it

(James 1:5 NLT) If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

Take time to

(Matthew 11:28 NLT) Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

(Mark 6:30-31 NLT) The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. 31 Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.

(Psalm 127:2 ESV) It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Choose healthy

(Ecclesiastes 9:11 NLT) I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.

Stay in the right

(Proverbs 27:9-10 NLT) The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. 10 Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.

Let God’s word

your thinking

(Romans 12:2 NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

(Philippians 4:8-9 NLT) And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
