SMALL GROUP GUIDE

Welcome
Weekly Vision Casting Healthy Small Groups have a reproducible process for discipleship. Jesus modeled this with His disciples by raising them up and sending them out to make more disciples. With many newcomers in the last year, our church is in need of several new small groups. Is anyone interested in leading a group at some point?

WARM UP QUESTION

What is your favorite costume that you have seen (yourself or others)? [In 2 Corinthians 2, going to take a look at the schemes of Satan.]

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read 2 Corinthians 1:23-2:17. Can someone summarize what is happening in the ongoing saga between Paul and the Corinthian believers?
2. Pastor Peter focused on two Schemes of Satan (v. 11) that are highlighted in this passage. Surveys show that far more people believe in God than in Satan, why do you think that is?
3. Look at verse 4: What was Paul’s motivation for confronting sin in the Corinthian church?
4. How does this match up with your view of love?
5. What was Paul’s concern in verse 6-8?
6. Review the two schemes of Satan that Pastor Peter highlighted. In this passage, what role do we see Christian community and spiritual authority having in combatting these schemes?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
7. In your life, have you found yourself to be more susceptible to one of these two schemes of Satan?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
8. What would it look like in your life to be more aware of the schemes of Satan?
