Proverbs - Doing It All Through Christ
John 15:5
Tonight we conclude our series on living for God by examining what it means to live for God through Christ. By through Christ, we mean we are made alive in Christ (Rom. 6:11) and we are empowered to live by Christ (John 15:5). To live for God is inseparable from our union with Christ. If we want to learn to live for God, we must do so as those who are in Christ!

Discussion Questions:
1. Are you rejecting living for God through Christ? Why?
2. Why is it impossible to live for God apart from Christ? What does faith have to do with it?
3. What are ways that we show our dependence on Christ?
4. What might happen if you attempt to live for God apart from Christ? Do any of those things happen to you?
5. What are you doing in your life that is not for God? They could be pursuits (academics, sports, etc.), relationships (friends, parents, church), hobbies, etc. Make a list. Are they things you need to stop doing altogether, change the way you do it, or keep doing them but for the right reasons?
6. In what ways are you avoiding living altogether? These are distractions from real life like binge-watching, video games, social media, reading, etc. I mean not just taking appropriate rest, but spending inappropriate and unwise amounts of time doing them because you don’t want to do what you should or you’re afraid to face it. Make your own list. What is it about real life that you are trying to avoid, and how do you need to bring it under the umbrella of living for God through Christ?
