Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. Romans 12:4–5 NLT

Let us look closely at our ways and examine them and then return to the Lord. Let us raise our hearts and hands to God in heaven. Lamentations 3:40–41 GW

For you have been called to live in freedom, my bothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13 NLT

• Emmanuel is

in our relationships with God and others

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer… . They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Acts 2:42, 46-47 NLT

So encourage one each other and build each other up, just as you already are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:12–13 NLT

My Commitment to God for 2023

I will make every effort to and on a regular basis.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24–25 NLT

I will at Emmanuel as gifted and where needed for the glory of God.

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. Matthew 20:28 NLT

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:16 NLT

All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27 NLT

I will and others to join me at Emmanuel.

“Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” … “Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the World.” John 4:29, 42 NLT

I will in a God-honoring way.

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT

Let us look closely at our ways and examine them and then return to the Lord. Lamentations 3:40 GW
