Thy Kingdom Come | 2 Samuel 18:19-20:26

We conclude the Absalom saga with David’s return to Jerusalem, and it is profoundly anticlimactic. Every episode in this passage leaves at least a taste of dissatisfaction. Even when David is doing his best under the circumstances, we long for something better. We’re supposed to. Someone better is coming.
