2 Peter 2:12-16 Sermon Notes
January 8, 2023

Last week we discovered it matters how we live. This week Peter reveals to us what it looks like if we are heading down the wrong road.

By looking at the motivation of Balaam, we find 3 questions that indicate that we are on the wrong path.

  1. Do you speak evil of the things you know nothing about? When someone you know, makes a decision like this, it truly makes you uncomfortable because you know the truth, that this is what our Lord has called you to do.
  2. Are you driven by money, honor, and the fulfillment of fleshy desires? Do you consider this a once in a lifetime opportunity? But what will this opportunity cost you?
  3. Do you do something even though you know it is against our Lord’s will? We, as Christians, know basically whether the way we are living is wrong or not. The question is what are we going to do about it?

So what type of commitment do you need to make to Jesus today? Recommitting your life to becoming a godly Christian, who has turn down the wrong path, or do you need to commit your life for the first time to Jesus this morning? He is here, waiting on you this morning. Will you make this committment today?
