When God has your heart, He becomes your treasure.
1 Kings 8:54–61
King Solomon has just concluded a prayer time of dedication for the newly constructed temple. Standing before the altar, he pronounces a blessing to the Lord and the people.
v.54—”Blessed” in this context conveys the idea that the Lord is “Worthy of praise.” Why? Because He has given Israel rest from her enemies and has kept all of His promises. Therefore, may the Lord do the following:
—May the Lord be with us.
—May the Lord not abandon or forsake us.
—May the Lord make us submissive (Stretching our hearts towards Him), resulting in our walking in and obeying all that He has commanded.
—May the Lord hear and answer our prayers according to our daily needs, resulting in all the earth coming to know that the LORD is God and there is no other.
v.61—Our responsibility
—Let your hearts be wholly in association/fellowship with the Lord. What that looks like—we walk in and obey all His commands.
