The breakdown of the home has been clearly seen this week!
Let’s start by thanking God in prayer for what He is doing in our families. How these men of God in this room have repented and made things right with Him, and how they desire to lead their families in the ways of God and the word of God.
1 Peter 3:7 says:
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Ephesians 5:22-24 says:
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Submission is defined as the Greek word “hypotasso” that means to live to one’s admonition or advice. To be obedient unto another.

Genesis 18:1-8 says:
And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant.
And they said, So do, as thou hast said. And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

What does God mean by telling us to “dwell with them according to knowledge”? It means you better study up men!
WE MUST
Men and women are totally different from one another and in order to come together we must study the other one. And what a doctorate course women are!
WE MUST
Many problems of the marriage home today is the multiple differences that are living under one roof. Men are different from women, women are different from men, sons are different from daughters, parents are different from children.
What does God mean here by telling us to “give honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel”?
A godly husband will seek to understand his wife’s moods, feelings, needs, fears, and hopes. He will listen to her with his
While some view certain scriptures as a dominance style of understanding, we must remember that those who are in Christ are all one and not “one above another”.
Galatians 3:28 says:
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all
HONOR IN THE HOME
Ephesians 5:33 says:
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
THE HUSBAND MUST
THE WIFE MUST
Does this seem difficult? Women do you find it hard to reverence your husbands? Why? This is a command of God.
Let me put a scenario out there that might help us understand how the wife may not reverence her husband though. Maybe this is just a shot in the dark…
Genesis 27:1-17 says:
And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee. Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth: And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death. And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man: My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing. And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them. And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved. And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son: And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck: And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.
Women and wives, just because the husband isn’t being obedient unto the word of the Lord this doesn’t give you an excuse to become as devilish as he is!

The honor of this home was ruined! Wives, Women, you are the honor of the home. You are a delicate but yet Christ-honoring, Child of God! Help him women. Help him wives.
By speaking to someone else about the failures of your husband, you are being ungodly and need to repent. Reverence him, and when he is leading the dance and has a difficult time with the steps, gently flow and respectfully remind him of your commitments to God.
It is time for honor to be restored to the home. Wives and moms, this begins with you turning to God, then your husband, and even possibly to your children and repent. What will you do with this message from the Lord?
