Renewed Focus (Our Strategy)

For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Now if I live on in the flesh, this means fruitful work for me; and I don’t know which one I should choose. I am torn between the two. I long to depart and be with Christ—which is far better— but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. Since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that, because of my coming to you again, your boasting in Christ Jesus may abound.
Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel, not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of destruction for them, but of your salvation—and this is from God. For it has been granted to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him since you are engaged in the same struggle that you saw I had and now hear that I have. —Philippians 1:21-30

Establish believers to be a long-term, faithful Gospel presence.

Gospel presence in the world begins with

in us.
Philippians 3:7-11

“For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” —Phiippians 1:21

“When everything considered valuable in life is seen to be nothing in comparison to the glory of Christ, you learn rather well that Christ alone is worth living for.” —Matt Chandler

The Gospel impact we make in the world will never be greater than the impact it has made in our hearts.

Engage neighbors through conversations, community, and worship.

Jesus calls us to

those around us.
Philippians 1:22-26, 12-13; 2:5-8

“Paul’s only reason for existence is that he may spend his life in that glad service; and death for that cause will be the crowning service.” —Ralph Martin

The work of connecting the Gospel of Christ with those around us is the most important work we have been given right now.

Expand the Kingdom of God through intentional, Christ-like living.

The goal of the Christ-like life is the

Christ-like lives.
Philippians 1:27-30; 2:14-15

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” —Matthew 28:19-20
