Treasure: Responding to Grace

2 Corinthians 8:1-9:15 ESV

Icebreaker - Do you naturally enjoy giving or receiving more? Has this always been the case for you?

Read 2 Corinthians 8:1-9:15
1. Why do you think people can get so uncomfortable talking about issues related to their finances?

2. Who has taught you the most about spending, saving, or stewardship? Is that a good or bad thing?

3. The Macedonians were poor but gave generously, while the Corinthians were rich but struggled to give. What can we learn from each of these groups?

4. How would you describe your journey of stewardship? Is it just beginning, been maturing, nonexistent, or something else?

5. What words would you (or those who know you well) use to describe your heart toward the things of God?

6. How has God shown Himself to be good to you in seasons of both abundance and scarcity?

7. In what specific ways would you like God to expand your faith regarding finances and stewardship?

“As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19
