Our Mission: To Make More and Better Disciples
for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water. —Jeremiah 2:13 (ESV)
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. —2 Peter 1:3-9 (NIV)
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge, and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. —2 Peter 1:5-7 (NIV)
For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. —2 Peter 1:8-9 (NIV)

Peter goes on (v.5-7) to say that we are to strive, chase, grow, learn, study, obey, practice and work to “add to”, right build up, strengthen, fortify our faith by adding:
God is good, and He intends for us to follow him in goodness.
– Learning from God’s Word what is good. A surrender to his definition of good. I’m not deciding what is good, He is.
- – Choosing to be who He says you are as you strive to be more like him.
- Don’t give up, consistency over time
– looking more and more like Jesus more and more often.
– a ministering heart, an affection towards others committed to their good.
- “phileo” and “agapao”
