The Exclusivity of Christianity
Main Point: The invitation of salvation is for everyone, but there is only one place to find it.
The argument: All religions are basically the same thing; we should be good people, treat others well, and seek after God.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” —Matthew 7:13-14
The argument: It is not fair that people who have never heard of Jesus will not be saved.
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. —Romans 3:22-24
The argument: Christians are judgmental to think they have the only answer about God and salvation.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” —John 14:6-7
The argument: We ultimately do not know what happens to those who have never heard about Jesus.
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” —Acts 4:12
Takeaway: A relationship with God through Jesus is the only way to change your eternal destiny.
