INTRODUCTION

Our minds are active from the moment we wake up until we fall asleep. In fact they’re so active some of us have a hard time sleeping and a harder time finding any peace of mind. Our thoughts in our minds are critical to our quality of life. This series invites us to pause for a moment and consider what we’re thinking about and then dare to allow the Lord to help us change our thought patterns. If we are passive in this process we will get limited to no results or change. If, however, we courageously take time to give the Holy Spirit access to our thoughts it can literally change everything about our life. It’s time for the mind games to end and for abundant peace to prevail in our minds!

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. You may be old enough to remember a scene in the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark where Indiana Jones showed up to a knife fight with a gun. He won. When we engage in our own war with our enemy in our minds we need to show up with the right weapon. How can you successfully fight the battle in your mind and win?
  2. Identify a thought pattern or belief that may have developed into a strong hold in your mind. Please share if you feel led to do so.
  3. Where do you rank yourself on your thought audit on the following three spectrums? Worried to peaceful, negative to positive, and worldly to eternal.
  4. What are some healthy things that trigger a dopamine hit for you?
  5. What are some unhealthy thought paths you need to determine to stay away from?
  6. You cannot defeat what you don’t define. You cannot change what you don’t confront. What do you need to change and defeat?
  7. What drives the lies that you have believed?
  8. What do you need to do to have a positive, faith-filled life?

MOVING FORWARD

Waging war on our own mind games minds cannot merely be based on our striving or effort. Our victory has already been won by Jesus. We need to grow in experiencing the truth about Him in order to walk in the victory he has provided. As we continue to identify the believable lies inside of us Jesus will lead us to the truth. This process is not for the faint of heart and will certainly not be easy, but it will be worth every ounce of effort. Let’s continue to courageously uncover lies as we move towards health, stability, and abundance based upon the power of Jesus Christ!
