Read Philippians 1:27 and 2:1-11
What similarities do you see between 1:27 and 2:1-2? Why do you think Paul is focusing on unity so much? How do humility and unity work together? Can you have unity without humility?
How would you define selfishness? Can you think of examples of things we ourselves do, or have done, from ambition, conceit, or looking to our own interests?
What does having the “attitude of Christ” look like in our relationships with each other?
John 13:1-17
An important word that appears throughout this passage is ‘know’ or ‘knew’. Take a moment to observe the things that Jesus knows or knew throughout John 13:1-17. Underline them or write them down. Discuss this together.
Jesus says that His followers should “wash one another’s feet” (vs 14). What does this mean practically? How good are you at “washing others’ feet”?
