Book of John - Life Group Questions - Week 13
June 1, 2020

Opening Question:

What is something you are looking forward to this summer?

Scripture Reading:

Read John 10: 7-18

Observation Questions:

  1. In these verses, Jesus explains the metaphor from verses 1-6 in two stages. In verses 7-10 Jesus explains what it means that he is the gate for the sheep. What does it mean that Jesus is the gate?

  2. In verses 11-18 Jesus explains that he is the “good shepherd.” What does it mean that Jesus is the “good shepherd”?

  3. Why is it significant that Jesus is both the gate and the shepherd?

Life Application Questions:

  1. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and desires to give us life and life to the full. What do you think he means by “life to the full”? What does that look like for us?
  2. The Good Shepherd provides and cares for us. What are some ways that Jesus has provided and cared for you in your life?
  3. The Good Shepherd also protects. This does not mean that we will not face trouble or difficult times. How have you experienced the protection of the Good Shepherd in your life?
  4. The Good Shepherd directs you. The importance here is that we know His voice and his word. How has God’s word helped direct your life and decisions that you make?
  5. The Good Shepherd rescues. Jesus went after those that are lost and we are called to do the same. Rob said we are to “come in and go out” of the sheep pen. What are some ways you can you “go out” and help and care for those in your life who may not know the Good Shepherd?

Prayer: Spend time in prayer over the following list:

  1. Pray for more people to come to put their faith in God during this time.
  2. Father, we praise your Holy name. We don’t just want you to fix our circumstances, we want to get well.
  3. Continue to pray for the World. This is the world that Jesus died for!
