STAYING HUMBLE

John 4:38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.

James 4:6 God continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says, “God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.” 7 So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will flee in agony. 8 Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you.

1Peter 5:5b …be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

When we’re humble we lean on God, we don’t put our trust in ourselves.

Commands To Trust
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Psalms 37:3-5 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness (CULTIVATE FAITHFULNESS). 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

The Result Of Trust
Psalms 37:5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it (HIS WILL) to pass.

When you trust in the Lord you know that He will not fail you.

Although you may not always be able to prove why you trust in the Lord, you trust Him.

When you trust in the Lord you rely upon Him for everything.

Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.

This is a capsulization of 2 Chronicles 26:1-21

Uzziah did what was right in the sight of the LORD.

He sought God.

As long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.

God helped him against the Philistines, against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and against the Meunites.

Uzziah prepared for the entire army, shields, spears, helmets, body armor, bows, and slings to cast stones. 15 And he made devices in Jerusalem, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and the corners, to shoot arrows and large stones. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was marvelously helped…

Just like Uzziah, you can be marvelously helped by the Lord. As you trust in the Lord, He will help you. Trust in the Lord and do good, feed on His faithfulness.
