God’s Healing of the Withered Hand – Mark 3:1-6 July 24, 2022

  1. The Sabbath ultimately pointed to the

, from whom we obtain eternal and with God.

  2. The healing of the withered hand demonstrates that Jesus is making us

    for .

Main Idea
Jesus gave up his spirit just as the Sabbath was about to commence, because through his

he was working to bring us into .

His Body lay dead in the grave throughout the Sabbath Day,

for us the greatest miracle ever, the salvation and complete healing of our souls.

Application
The law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners… (1 Timothy 1:9)

Who then is a righteous man (or woman)?

  1. A righteous man is one who humbly acknowledges he is spiritually disabled,* yet desires with all his heart to reach out and lay hold of Jesus Christ for permanent healing, forgiveness of sins, restoration with God, and eternal life.

  2. An unrighteous man is one who refuses to acknowledge that he is spiritually disabled,* yet desires with all his heart to demonstrate his own righteousness; thereby remaining permanently disabled, without forgiveness, dying in his sins, and forever separated from God.

    • Spiritually Disabled: to be unrighteousness and unable to keep the Law of God

Conclusion / Personal Impact Question

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
