2 Peter 3:9, Philippians 2:6-7
Have you ever experienced anger to the point that your actions were out of control? The Bible is filled with examples of people who struggled with anger. God’s Word tells us that it’s not a sin to be angry, but we must not sin when we are angry.(Ephesians 4:26) God gives us a wonderful prescription of what to do when we are angry.
God’s Prescription
Forgive those who have hurt you.
Let go of any angry feelings you have towards anyone.
Recognize the warning signs when anger starts to get a foothold.
Step out and do something for God that helps someone else.
Learn to say, “You know what the problem is? I’m not getting what I want.”
Action Point
Ask Yourself
What is my relationship with anger?
Do I shout out or shut down?
What are my triggers?
Am I ready for change?
Am I ready to humble myself?
Who’s going to go first?
Who’s got the upper hand?
