This Week’s Power Verse:
And He said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Matthew 19:5
Marriage is one man and one woman in a committed, exclusive relationship for life.
Navigating Treacherous Waters
1) Unrealistic
2) Sexual
“Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.” 1 Corinthians 7:5
3) Money
Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life. 1 Tim 6:18-19
H.E.L.P. to Heal Marriages
So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. Hebrews 6:18-19
And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. James 3:4-5
“For we are each responsible for our own conduct.” Galatians 6:5
“Love does not demand its own way.” 1 Corinthians 13:5
And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21
Biblical Marriage is a covenant, not a contract.
