“Creating a ‘Laboratory’ for Life”

We don’t want to avoid tough subjects. We want to run toward them! Believe me, society is running toward your child with this stuff. If you don’t believe me, you need to see some of the stuff kids have already been exposed to online, on the school bus, or at a friend’s house.

We create a laboratory for (real) life by embracing both:

The

- Emotional/relational
- Being in God’s means we are emotional/relational beings;

So, is it safe to bring our hurts, questions, and frustrations to

…even if it’s we’re frustrated with?

• Clearly, the

authors thought it was !
• In fact, the Bible us to bring our to God!
• And Jesus this openness for us.

In opening up to one another, we can make two mistakes:
1. We attempt to go

too , not taking time to
develop .
2. We attempt to go deep, staying only on the of things.

  • When a level of trust and intimacy are developed, we can our sins to others, inviting them into the battle with us.

Question people will ask quietly or even out loud about our church:
Is this a safe place for someone to bring their

?
- We can create potential for disillusionment for others:
- When we the complex.
- When we make for God He never made.
- When we and the Bible.

REMEMBER OUR HOUSE RULE- “We get real: authenticity.”

The

- Intellectual
- apologia= ; Christians are called to be to give a reasoned of their faith.
- Our goal with students is to “ their in a safe place.”
- We want to expose them to ideas they will face—or are already facing—in a setting where , Christian adults can help them to process and teach them how to think.

Question people will ask quietly or out loud:
*- Is this a safe place to ask
