Big Idea: Why is life worth living?
1) What is death?
a. A new concept to Adam and Eve: Gen 2:17
b. Literally or figuratively
i. mûṯ - physical death OR worthy of death
c. No longer Holy
i. Separation from God
2) What is life after death?
a. Eternal life – either in Heaven or hell
Rom 10:9– saved from hell
b. Paradise - paràdeisos – perfect happiness, like Eden, total peace, no pain, no tears
c. Perfect Holiness – unity with God
d. Is death better than life?
i. v23 – Paul’s desire to be with Christ
3) What is our reason for living?
a. God has plans for our life
b. Some of His plans are for all of us
i. To go and make disciples
ii. Love for Christ means feeding His sheep
c. We live to serve others
i. v24 – Paul is driven by helping others
