What do you know about tax collectors during Jesus’ ministry? Who do you think people treat like tax collectors today? What does Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus teach us about welcoming outsiders? What does this encounter teach us about Jesus’ compassion and grace?
What does Zacchaeus do after encountering Jesus? Does Jesus tell Zacchaeus to do these things? Why does Zacchaeus decide to give so much away and make things right? Do we believe that Jesus can still lead people to this kind of radical life change? How can we prepare to be ready for those kinds of transformations?
Why does Jesus call Zacchaeus a son of Abraham? How does faith bring us into the family of Abraham? We are called to share our faith with others, and invite them into the family of faith. Who are the people that you are praying for?
