James 1
12 God blesses those who patiently

testing and temptation.
Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who him.

13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is

me.”
God is tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts else.
14 Temptation comes from our own , which entice us and drag us away.
15 These desires give birth to sinful actions.
And when sin is allowed to , it gives birth to .

1 John 4
15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God

in them, and they live in God. 16 We know how much God us, and we have put our in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows perfect.
So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like here in this world.

God is not going to trash His own place. He is always making His dwelling more and more like His eternal kingdom. He is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
How is He working it for good? Through

.
What is The Good? Being more and more like Jesus.
Be assured of God’s love and presence from James 1.12 and 1 John 4.15-17. You heard it right! You live in love, God lives in you!

Why do I have A Taste for Temptation and a constant desire to fulfill it?

**The Sin Nature - Genesis 3

The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”

2 “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. 3 “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’”

4 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. 5 “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be

God, knowing both good and evil.”

6 The woman was

. She saw that the tree was and its fruit delicious, and she the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. 7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to .

An external appeal was offered, then accepted, then when the result came, shame, they covered themselves and hid from God. They nurtured the broken part, sin grew.

Luke 1 - Jesus Is Sinless
30 “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. 33 And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”
34 Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.”
35 The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.

We also see a comparison between Adam and Jesus
Romans 5

18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for

, but Christ’s one act of brings a right with God and new life for everyone. 19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.

Jesus did not, does not have our sin nature. So he was tempted

- directly by Satan in person. (Matt. 4, Luke 4) He was tempted in every way just like we are, yet He is always without sin. Jesus was not ‘carried away’ by temptation because He did not/does not have corruption caused by human desires. (See 2 Peter 1.3-4)

Matthew 16
21 From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would

many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be , but on the third day he would be raised from the dead.
22 But Peter took him aside and began to reprimand him for saying such things. “Heaven forbid, Lord,” he said. “This will happen to you!”
23 Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, ! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a point of view, not from God’s.”
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. 25 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. 26 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

Matt. 4.5 Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say,
‘He will order his angels to

you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’”
Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’

Will God be believed or will man make his own way? Because Jesus is born without a sin nature, like with Adam, this man Jesus is “Re-Tested” BY EXTERNAL offering.
Peter is saying “By heaven, no harm should ever come to you!” Implicit is included ‘I’m loyal; I won’t LET you LET this happen’. But the temptation doesn’t originate or resonate with the soul of Jesus. It has no place to reside in Jesus’ heart. There is no corrupt desire in Jesus.
Instead, this is what lived/ lives in Jesus’ heart and soul

John 8
28 So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will understand that I am he. I do nothing on my own but say

what the Father taught me. 29 And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what him.”

What Is The Solution for My Taste for Temptation?

2 Peter 1
3 By his divine power, God has given us

we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the that you to share nature and the world’s corruption caused by .

Blessed Endurance, Jesus Is Mine

2 Cor. 5.21
For God made Christ, who

sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made with God Christ.
ESV: 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
NASB: 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

1 Cor. 10
12 If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way so that you can endure.
14 So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols.

The way out is known to Jesus because He had no internal hurdle of a taste for temptation, for the sin nature. He is The

, The Truth, and The life.

Gal. 2 -
20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless.
