Fearless: Faith on Fire
January 8, 2021

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. —2 Timothy 1:7

As we read through the Bible again and again the message is “don’t be afraid.” Know who you are…as God’s children and citizens of Jesus’ kingdom, we can trust Him with our lives, our families, and our future.

“Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness; and let them rule over…all the earth…” —Genesis 1:26
“Be fruitful and multiply; and fill the earth and subdue it…” —Genesis 1:28

Subdue – Take charge; put things in order; bring to its full potential

The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to mankind. —Psalm 115:16

INFORM YOUR FAITH
1. God made you in His image.
2. God gave you free will.
3. Your choices affect eternity.

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? —Romans 10:13,14
What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? Yet You made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet. —Psalm 8:4-6
We declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. —1 Corinthians 2:7,8
God…chose (His people) to become like His Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. —Romans 8:29

Read about how Jesus responded when Satan tempted Him in Luke 4:1-13.

…Christ always leads us in triumph and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere. For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ… —2 Corinthians 2:14,15
God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. —Philippians 2:9-11
“Whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.” —John 14:12-14
“These signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons….” —Mark 16:17
Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit…” —Matthew 28:18,19
