Church Wide Prayer Request: Thank God for people who don’t give up in getting themselves and others to see Jesus. Pray for grace to keep digging.

This Week’s Passage: Luke 5:17-26

Get This: Might we let nothing stand in the way of getting ourselves and others to Jesus. Wherever, whenever, and however. Might we be willing to dig through the roof.

Discussion Questions

Paul brought up the idea of “open door theology” or the concept that God will open and close doors of opportunity to lead us.

How is this concept helpful as you practice sharing your faith and what are the limitations of shaping our faith around looking for open doors?

What examples can you think of in which conversion, healing, or redemption came about because someone busted through a closed door, dug through a roof, or otherwise refused to relent in getting someone else to Jesus? What obstacles to faith did they have to dig through?

Hebrews 10:39 is an anthem to encourage each other to hold on to our confidence in Jesus with endurance. “We are not of those who shrink back and are detroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

How does this “DNA statement” embolden you?

When was the last time you took a risk to follow Jesus?

Are you currently being challenged to take any risks? Are there certain environments, people, media, resources, etc that embolden you more to take risks in your faith?

Personal Reflection Questions

Who led you to Jesus? How will you thank them this week?

Who is your one? What obstacles stand between them and Jesus?
