Our Beloved Family (Part 3)

Ephesians 5:15-21

Icebreaker: If you could have a free day all to yourself (at home or away), how would you spend your time?

  1. Why do we use the word “spend” when referring to how we use our time?

  2. Is there anything in your life which you feel wastes time or distracts you from using it wisely?

  3. Verse 15 instructs, “Look carefully then how YOU walk…” How often do you do a thorough assessment of your thinking, emotions, time management, and soul care? Who do you allow to speak openly into your life?
–What could this process look like?
    –What results would you anticipate?

  4. Since wisdom isn’t about intelligence but rather about living in accordance to God’s will, how does the combination of prayer, biblical application, community of believers, genuine gratitude, and mutual submission work together to grow us in wisdom?

  5. How would you explain verse 17 to somebody you are discipling?

  6. According to the Bible, is it a sin to drink alcohol? If so, why? If not, when could it become a sin?

  7. In your own words, why do you think gratitude and being subject to one another as described in verses 20-21 are so difficult for us?
