Unfailing Love

God is faithful! Even though everyone and everything else in our life may fail, change or leave…God NEVER will! His promises are forever sure, and His love for us in unfailing!

Text: Isaiah 54:10 (NIV), Lamentations 3:22-24 (KJV), 2 Timothy 2:10-13 (KJV) Isaiah 43:2 (TLB)

10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord , who has compassion on you. — Isaiah 54:10 (NIV - New International Version)

22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. — Lamentations 3:22-24 (KJV - King James Version)

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. — 2 Timothy 2:10-13 (KJV - King James Version)

חַסְדִּ֞י** - “my kindness” [54:10], ‘loyal love’; ‘unfailing kindness and devotion’; ‘covenant love’;**

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” C.S. Lewis

“When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you.” —Isaiah 43:2 (TLB)

We know intellectually that God is faithful, yet we still find it difficult to actively put our trust in Him.

Sometimes we struggle with trusting in the faithfulness of God because we know that we are not always faithful to Him.

God is faithful because He is God. He will never cease to be faithful to us.

We learn to trust the character of a person by getting to know that person.

There are three ways we can get to know God:

  1. Studying His
  2. Reviewing His working in our own
  3. Learning to follow His

YOU CAN TRUST IN GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE: WHY?

  • God

everything you’re going through. “The eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love” (Psalm 33:18 NIV).

  • God

about everything you’re going through. “But I will watch for the LORD; I will wait confidently for God, who will save me. My God will hear me” (Micah 7:7 GNT).

  • God has the power to

whatever you’re going through. “Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7 TLB).

  • God always

out of His goodness to you. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28 NIV).

  • God’s plan is always

than your plan. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the LORD. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT).

  • God will never stop

you. “For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain” (Isaiah 54:10 NLT).

  • No matter what you go through, God is

you. “When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 TLB).

Illustration of Trust:
One night a house caught fire and a young boy was forced to flee to the roof. The father stood on the ground below with outstretched arms, calling to his son, “Jump! I’ll catch you.” He knew the boy had to jump to save his life. All the boy could see, however, was flame, smoke, and blackness. As can be imagined, he was afraid to leave the roof. His father kept yelling: “Jump! I will catch you.” But the boy protested, “Daddy, I can’t see you.” The father replied, “But I can see you and that’s all that matters.” (Source unknown, Lou Nicholes - Missionary/Author).

6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? — Psalms 118:6 (KJV - King James Version)
