Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.
• Monday: Read Ephesians 4:25-5:2 Paul continues to lay out specific old nature behaviors we have to put off as we put on the new nature in Christ. More than just things to do, the new nature is what we have become. As you read today, ask the Lord to strengthen how your soul imitates Christ [What in me does not imitate you, Lord]
• Tuesday: Read Ephesians 5:1-21, Ac 20:17-35 [20:24** focus] Christ loved & gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering & sacrifice to God. As Christ-ians {little Christ’s} ask God to make your life a fragrant offering & sacrifice to God
• Wednesday: Read Ephesians 5:1-21, Galatians 5:19 Paul names specific behaviors [vv3-4] that shouldn’t even be named among Christ-followers. We all find our list to some degree. Pray for continued growth in Christ as we seek to put away sexual immorality, all impurity or covetousness, filthy or foolish talk.
• Thursday: Read Eph 5:1-21 in v6 Paul distinguishes between walk of those in Christ & sons of disobedience [cf 2:2]. Be led in prayer as you read of behaviors we are all personally familiar with being associated with being a child of disobedience.
• Friday: Read Eph 5:1-21 In v8 Paul again distinguishes what we WERE from what we ARE now. As you read today, pray how that verse shapes your life. Are there points of what you were, at work in what you now are?
• Saturday: Read Eph 5:1-21 Paul leaves us with how we are now to walk - in Christ. We now live, spiritually changed and directed which allows us to submit (live in harmony) with others. Verse 5:21 ties our thoughts back to 4:32. Our new nature empowers us to live above circumstance of what has happened to us.
