How do you “make” a disciple? What does that mean? How should it look? How should it feel? Is it just having coffee? Is it a class? How should we think about it discipleship? The answers to these questions are both simple and complex. Discipleship is cultivated over time through intentional and mutual relationship-building and instruction. Discipleship should occur from a position of love, trust, mutual respect, and open communication. We all need some direction and help when it comes to disciple-making.

Making disciples has rational, relational, and missional components. Disciple-making is not just information but transformation; it is not just coffee but sharing life and following Jesus together; it is not just doing things but understanding your identity. It takes time and patience and is not finished until we see Jesus. We have been commissioned, so let’s examine MAKING DISCIPLES—WHAT & HOW?
