All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. —Acts 2:42-47
A Portrait of Priorities for the Church
1.) Let Go of Religion and Choose a Relationship with Christ
And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. —1 John 5:11-13
2.) Live Life with Other Believers
3.) Long for Spiritual Maturity
Refuse to confuse ATTENDANCE for spiritual growth.
4.) Learn to Give Something Back
Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us, I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. —2 Corinthians 8:7
5.) Link Others to Jesus
Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. —1 Peter 3:15
