The word “heaven” is found

times in the New Testament alone.

Heaven is a

place and is described in detail.

Scripture also refers to

heavens.

2 Corinthians 12:1–4 I must go on boasting. Though there is nothing to be gained by it, I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. And I know that this man was caught up into paradise—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter.

Now there are multiple arguments that these 3 heavens are the 3 levels of glory you aspire to by your works - the higher the level the closer to God. – Scripture

support that.

And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

  3. The third heaven is the __dwelling __place of God. - John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

This is also the destination of Old Testament saints who died trusting in God’s

of the Redeemer.

Ephesians 4:8 Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”

Bottom Line.

No matter how eloquent John was in describing Heaven, the reality is that it’s beyond our ability to truly imagine it.
