1. Read Romans 12:3
i. Paul acknowledges that his ability to speak on behalf of the Lord is a gift of grace. Filter your ministry through this filter; what do you see?
ii. Why does Paul need to instruct his readers not to “think of himself more highly than he ought?” How is this relevant in today’s Church?
iii. How would more Christians thinking “soberly” or “reasonably” change the church’s impact in today’s culture?
iv. Discuss God dealing with the faith we need when needed. How would living by this truth transform our personal and corporate ministries?
2. Read Romans 12:4-6a; see also 1 Corinthians 3:1-6
i. Why do so many attempt to press others into the same ministry mode as themselves? How does this hinder the ministry of so many churches? What would be a more Christ-centered approach?
ii. Discuss why the unity of the body of Christ is imperative for accomplishing the Great Commission. In what ways have you seen church unity damaged non-theological divisions? How can you, as individuals and a group, help to avoid such traps of the enemy?
