2 Corinthians 12:8-9 NASB Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might leave me. 9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
GOD TOLD THESE BIBLE CHARACTERS “NO”
Several biblical figures, including Moses, David, Paul, and Jesus, asked God for specific outcomes but were denied. Their requests, from entering the Promised Land to healing or avoiding suffering, were refused because God’s greater plan or purpose took precedence over their personal desires.
FOUR REASONS GOD SAYS, “NO”
James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
1 John 5:14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Isaiah 55:8-9 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
