God’s Plan for the Nations

1. Conclusion: God will gather the nations for eternity.

2. Creation: God designed the nations to glorify him.

Gen 10:5, Gen 11:1-9, Acts 17:26


3. Covenant: God promised to bless the nations.

Gen 12:1-3, Gal 3:8-9, Ezek 20:9, Deut 29:24-25, Ezek 36:22-23, Ps 96:3-8, Eph 2:11-12


4. Christ: God redeems the nations through his Son.

Eph 2:13-22


5. Commission: God sends his people to the nations.

Acts 1:8, Rev 7:9-10


The nations exist for God’s glory, and His people exist to proclaim it.

GOSPEL:

  1. How does the covenant with Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3) reveal God’s heart for the nations? Why is it important that God’s promises to Abraham were always meant to include all nations?

  2. What does it mean for God to “gather the nations” in the new heaven and new earth?

  3. What role does the church play in God’s redemptive plan for the nations?


COMMUNITY:

  1. How does the truth that “all nations will worship before God” (Psalm 86:9) shape our relationships within the church?
  2. What barriers do we need to overcome to grow in our love for one another across cultural lines?
  3. What does it mean for our church to be “on mission” together?
