Introduction
REVERSED
In the garden where dawn first kissed the earth,
Where innocence reigned and everything had its birth,
A paradise unblemished, untainted by sin,
Until the serpent whispered, and darkness slithered in.
With one act, defiance, the fracture wide and deep,
The curse inscribed upon flesh, a price too steep.
Eden’s gates closed, paradise was lost,
On every child of Adam, came death’s frost.
The curse of sin, like a shroud, over creation spread,
Whispering to every soul, “You are but dead.”
Chasing after wind, under a sun that offered no warmth,
Our stories in shadows, then back to the dust where we were formed.
Until Jesus, born of a virgin, God in flesh, Divine,
Stepped into our story, His life for mine.
On Calvary’s hill, where blood and mercy flowed,
Where the Lamb of God bore our sin and carried the load.
“It is finished,” He declared, as He bowed His head,
The veil torn, the earth shook, the Son of God, dead.
Yet, what seemed the end was but a glorious start,
For on the third morn, the grave lost its part.
REVERSED, the curse, as He rose in victory,
Offering us a new story, setting our spirits free.
In His resurrection, our stories find their turn,
From ashes to beauty, His love we learn.
For what was lost in Eden, in Jesus, is found,
The chains of the curse, broken, we are unbound.
The curse REVERSED, our lives redeemed, His glory our aim,
In the story of resurrection, we’re never the same.
A new creation, a new identity, in His love, we’re dressed,
Jesus REVERSED, our narrative, forever we are blessed.
