Points of Meditation & Reflection

Sermon Title & Text “To Him Who is Able” Jude 24-25 ESV
Sermon Series: Contend for the Faith [Book of Jude]
Message in a Sentence: God’s plan of salvation is greater than the enemy’s plan of division.
• The premise of Jude’s letter is to warn Christians to contend for the faith, against those that have crept in to change the grace of God into sensuality & deny our Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Warnings are given because the danger is real and awareness needs to be raised. The danger is real and Jude finds strength in His view of Christ, expressed as a doxology [doxology = a short song of praise] Check out other doxologies in Rom 16:25, Eph 3:20
• The doxology is a powerful ending declaring the power of God the Father through Christ at work in the life of Christ followers.
• Against a clear warning pointing a the vulnerability of Christians, attention is fully turned, Now to Him who is able

To continue to develop your relationship with Christ, spend time every day this week praying and meditating on this passage and it’s truths [EveryDay Jesus - below].

Everyday Jesus: Teach us to live totally, constantly aligned with You.

· Monday: Read Jude 1-25, God warns of those that divide & pervert the truth of Christ’s grace, power & authority(v4). Re-read the warning and expectations in 1-23. After giving such a stark warning, Jude focuses on the glory of God. Today, as you read that ending doxology, express your own words/song of praise for who God is in your life.
· Tuesday: Read Jude 24-25. Read v24 several times (at least 3). Meditate [think deeply] on that 24th verse. The warning is given because there was a need to be warned. Knowing that scoffers/dividers seek to impact your relationship with the Lord, in prayer, “Now” recommit your full attention, to Him who has ability to keep you from stumbling & present you in heaven?
· Wednesday: {Day of Fasting} Read Jude 24-25. Christ followers are kept now and ultimately when they meet Christ from losing their footing. Today, spend time thinking about the vast difference between Christ’s ability to keep you from stumbling and your own ability to keep yourself from stumbling. As you then pray, ask God to give you strength to submit to His ability to keep you and praise Him that He alone has the ability to keep you from stumbling.
· Thursday: Read Jude 24-25,Ps 51:4 & Heb. 2:11. As Christ keeps you, He also presents you blameless in heaven. The role of dividers is to present you as something other than what you are in Christ. Pray today,, for a release from any/every point of guilt, shame or denial in your life.
· Friday: Read Jude 24-25 In the presence of scoffers/dividers there are 4 attributes of God that we realize and experience through our salvation in Christ. Today, ask God to reveal His glory, majesty, dominion and authority to you.
· Saturday: Read Jude 24-25. Jude’s final word is that as the plan of salvation is greater than the scheme of the enemy, it is from eternity past to right now to eternity future. Today, in full awareness of scoffers, thank God for the timeline of God’s plan of salvation at work in your life.
