Wives: when your husband is not a Christian…

Godly

and noble “Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives…” (1 Peter 3:1)

Preach sermons“…when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.” (1 Peter 3:2)

Cultivate true “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” (1 Peter 3:3-4)

Fight with – “You are her (Sarah) daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.” (1 Peter 3:6b)

Husbands: As a Christian…

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. (1 Peter 3:7)

Here’s what you do…

Honor her

“It is because the LORD is acting as the witness between you and the wife of your youth, because you have broken faith with her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.” (Malachi 2:14)

Honor her “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” (Eph. 6:4)
Honor her “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her…” (Eph. 5:25)

However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (Eph. 5:33)
