Same Sex Relationships

The same source that gave us the is the same source that gave us the natural law of .

Mark 1:16-17
Matthew 28:19

We are all broken people who need to be

from our sinfulness. We are not broken people who need to be from our sinfulness.

Our from the sin cannot supersede our for the individual.

Sexual immorality is a big issue. will always be the bigger issue.

Truth in does not mean .

Loving one another means in the . So be .

John 13:34-35

Jesus came to

people. He did not come to them. Christianity is about surrender, not comfort.

”We are people who want love. We are so desperate for love that we will choose bad love over no love.”

Genesis 1:1

If God is

and I am . I am automatically subjected to Him and all that he says.

Romans 1:26-27

Exchanging the natural for something unnatural is a clear

from the creation-order design.

Scripture is infallible, inerrant, immutable and clear. Scripture is reflective of God’s and .

Myth 1: David & Jonathan Were Lovers? (They were not)

2 Samuel 1:26
1 Samuel 18:4
1 Samuel 20:41

In Antiquity - The robe of the king’s son signified power and authority. Furthermore, the oldest son’s robe meant he was heir to the thrown.

1 Samuel 23:17 shows Jonathon’s admission that David will be king

So, this robe exchange was not one of sexuality. It was symbolic of the heir apparent transferring the right to the throne to the anointed King.

Myth 2: Jesus’ Silence on the Subject Means He Approved? (He was not)

An argument of since cannot stand on its own!

History tells us that homosexuality was condemned during the time Jesus was in ministry.
- Not just Jesus, but there were no first century Jews debating whether it was sin or not.

Yes, same sex - sex was rampant in the Roman empire. But Jesus did not need to correct them because the leaders of Israel had already condemned that practice.
- Jesus earthy ministry was first to the Jew then to the Gentile
- Sent with the primary concern with sin in Israel not Rome

Myth 3: When the Bible condemns two men laying together it was condemning a man laying with a boy not a male? (It is proven to have been adult male with adult male)

Leviticus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13

The dual punishment makes this obvious that this is between two adult males.

Deuteronomy 22:25-27 is cross referenced showing that the child victim is pulled from shame and taken to safety. Not punished.

These verses label homosexual behavior as an abomination (tō’ēbāh). This term was often used to describe ritual impurity related to idolatry, but it can also refer to “activities that are morally offensive to God.”

Note: Both passages use the Hebrew word “Zakar” meaning “male”.

Zakar - occurs 82 times and it always refers to “male” regardless of age - never exclusively meaning “boy”.

Yeled - occurs 31 times in genesis and exodus which means “boy”.
- It is also not the word used to argue for same sex relations in the previous passages

Zakar is the all encompassing word for the Hebrew male. To replace scripture with the word “boy” in verses like Genesis 1:27 & Genesis 7:9 would make no sense.

Myth 4: The Word Homosexual was Wrongly Inserted in the Bible in 1946 Instead of the Phrase, “Sex Abuser”? (Original Hebrew Defines Homosexuality)

1 Corinthians 6:9
1 Timothy 1:8-11

It is clear the Bible condemns same sex - sex because, homosexuality

the complementary nature of sex.
