Praying and Inviting your one to Jesus

INTRODUCTION
A. People are looking for a place to belong and to connect. They are trying to fill a hole, an emptiness that only a relationship with Jesus can fill. Are you sensitive to this need in the people around you? At work? At school? In your neighborhood? In your family? Did you know that 80% of people would come to church if they were just invited?
“Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” —Luke 14:23
B. Invite Your One is the call to a greater passion to invite people to Jesus. It was and still is the heart of Jesus’ ministry for people to come and experience the power of Christ and the life change He brings. The objective is for you to commit to invite your one and watch God work. It is going to take commitment to pray for your guest, to pray for the guests of others, and to pray for our church as we go and each invite our one.
This series of talks will include:
June 2 A Greater Work
TODAY A Greater Time
June 16 A Greater Church
June 23 A Greater Responsibility
June 30 A Greater Reach (Pastor Brian

C. TEXT: Luke 10:1-4 (New Testament)
“After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also,[fn] and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to. 2Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. 4Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.” —Luke 10:1-4
Today’s Takeaway: OUR VALUE OF THE GOSPEL IS DETERMINED BY OUR DESIRE TO SHARE IT WITH OTHERS.

Proofs of God’s Word:
• The Bible: 2,000 years to write, 40 different authors, no contradictions.
• Science: Isaiah – the earth is round; Jeremiah – the movement of the earth; Job and Psalms – descriptions of Dinosaurs
Testimony of others:
• Napoleon said, “The gospel is not a book; it is a living being, with an action, a power, which invades everything that opposes its extension.”
• Isaac Newton said, “I find more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible than in any profane history whatsoever.”
• Time Magazine wrote, “Reputable scholars now believe that the New Testament account is reliable history.” (Dec. 1999)
B. Christianity/God’s Word

• 11 out of 12 of the apostles were martyred for their outspoken voice for the Gospel.
• Pascal said, “I prefer to believe those writers who get their throats cut for what they write.”
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” —Colossians 3:23
C. Christianity/God’s Word
“Sing to the LORD; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. 3Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. 4Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.” —Psalm 96:2-4 (NLT)

When we are at war for other people’s souls, there is a war against us.

Have you accepted the Gospel as truth in your own life?
Are you ready to share the Gospel truth with those in your life?
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” —Ephesians 2:4-8 (NLT)
CONCLUSION: Who is your one? There is no “greater time” than right now to share the Gospel with someone.
