LIFE ABUNDANT

PURPOSE
EPBC exists to help people find life in Jesus Christ and discover abundant life through His Word.

Loving God Fervently
Loving God begins in the heart, with a personal relationship with Him. As we gather and participate in Christ-honoring worship services and respond to the preaching of God’s Word, this love flourishes.

Mark 12:30 says, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

Loving Others Faithfully
We love by sharing the Gospel with those who need the Lord—through witnessing to friends, coworkers, neighbors, and loved ones and giving to missions.

As a church, our mission is to reach the world with the Gospel of Christ beginning with our community. We want to utilize every available biblical means, and we want to disciple and train every member to participate in accomplishing our Lord’s purpose.

Living the Abundant Life Fruitfully
Our lives are transformed through the study and practice of God’s Word. This occurs in our weekly services, in our smaller Connection Groups, and in one-on-one discipleship. We flourish as we find a place of ministry in the local body.

CORE VALUES OF EPBC

Matthew 16:18

1. We Are Gospel-Centered!

The person & work of Jesus Christ is at the heart of all we do! Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus’ directive is our highest priority. Every facet of church activity, in some way, relates to our biblical purpose.

Philippians 1:27
Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

-Jesus has the preeminence at EPBC. Every message, every lesson, every song, every fellowship.

Colossians 1:18
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”

It’s all about Jesus! He is the star! Jesus is the One we aim to please. He is at the center of all that we do!

Revelation 4:11
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

1 Corinthians 10:31
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

2. We are Bible-Based

God’s Word is our sole authority for faith & practice. We would rather be biblical than popular! The Word of God is non-negotiable!

Acts 5:29
“… We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Jude 1:3
“…ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

2 Timothy 3:14-17
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

  1. We Love People Where They Are

Luke 7:34 says Jesus is,
“…a friend of publicans and sinners”

John 20:21
“…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”

1 Timothy 2:4”
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

Sharing the life-changing truth of the gospel is the most compassionate and important endeavor in which we can be engaged. Soul winning is not a request it is a responsibility.

A. We Share Christ in our everyday life.

B. We Share Christ through the ministry of Our Church.

4. We Grow Together

Acts 2:46–47
“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

Just as the New Testament church in the book of Acts was focused on making disciples, so are we!
Acts 5:42 records of the Jerusalem church: “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
This young church was constantly engaged in communicating the gospel and helping people become devoted followers of Jesus.

5. We Enjoy Serving Jesus

Psalm 100:2
“Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”

We lead in this church, we don’t push. We encourage, but we do not guilt!

Nehemiah 8:10
“…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

-Joy Is the Fruit of the Spirit.
-Joy Is the Product of Obedience.
-Joy Is the Outflow of balance.

This includes not cracking the whip on ourselves.

Matthew 11:28–29
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

We have to be healthy if we are to lead others to health.

Daniel 6:3
“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.”

6. We Live by Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) Luke 6:38

A. God Is able! God can!
