Exodus 7-11
Why does God bring 10 plagues? (Exodus 7:3-5)
• They are first called signs and wonders.
• They are second called great acts of judgment.
• This judgment is against the Egyptian gods. (Exodus 12:12)
Why these signs and wonders?
1. Blood in the Nile (7:14-25)
2. Frogs 8:1-14
3. Gnats (8:16-19)
4. Flies (8:20-30)
5. Livestock (9:1-7)
6. Boils (9:8-12)
7. Hail (9:13-35)
8. Locusts (10:1-20)
9. Darkness (10:21-29)
10. Death of the firstborn (11:1-10)
What do these signs and wonders and plagues teach us?
1. That God is still great and His greatness is like none other
2. That God is in control
3. That God’s people are set apart and unique
4. That pride is dangerous
5. God wanted to make sure His people would never forget
6. That everyone matters to God
