Exodus 20:12
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
We Give Honor From Our
.
We Honor By
Our Parents.
While living in the home:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. —Ephesians 6:1-4
And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. —Luke 2:51-52
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. —Ephesians 6:4
“Quit yelling at your kids before they go to bed and expect them to sleep well. Quit yelling at your kids in the morning before they go to school and expect them to have a good day. You set the tone for your children. You set the tone for your voice they will always remember in their heads. You become their inner voice. Don’t be their inner critic. Speak life. Speak love. Speak bravery. Speak kindness, hope, and wisdom. Speak the truth. And listen to your children.”
In the young adult years:
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. —James 1:5
Maturing in Christ is moving from only being a
of grace to being
for extending grace.
As Adults:
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. —2 Corinthians 9:8

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. —Ephesians 4:32
“Hardship in the hands of the Redeemer is a workshop of His grace.” —Paul David Tripp
