Road To Resurrection- Week 1- Discussion Questions
March 17, 2024

SUMMARY
This past weekend, Pastor Cory kicked off a brand new series titled, “Road to Resurrection.” This is a three part series that will culminate on Easter Weekend 2024. But before that, we took time as a church body to celebrate all that God did through Cape Christian the last two weeks:
–Convoy of Hope: we raised $150,000 to help feed kids all over the world
–Serve Day: 1600 volunteers, serving on 100 projects in 11 cities, including 28 schools, providing 6,000 man hours of serving. Just amazing, way to go everyone!

He then launched his message using Jesus’ description of a wheat stalk, its kernels and how it must literally die in the ground, and then rises up producing fruit (and its potential) to grow. In John 12:24, Jesus says, “Very truly tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” Pastor Cory then proceeded to unpack this process of:

     SURRENDER ——— SACRIFICE ——— RESURRECTION

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. What area(s) of your life do you need to surrender to God?
2. What are you living for? What is the most important thing to you?
3. If the path to resurrection travels through death, what needs to die in you?
4. John the Baptist made the statement, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” What needs to decrease in you? Where do you want Jesus to bring increase?

MOVING FORWARD
Ask the Lord if there is something that you are hanging on to that you need to release to Him. Once He shows you, be courageous enough to let go and let God. Because for the new to come, the old must die. He wants to bring resurrection to all of your life!

WORD!
Proverbs 16:25
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is death.”

Mark 8:36
“Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life[b] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”
