Sermon Title: Part 2 – Daniel, Being Faithful Right Where You Are At
Scripture: Daniel 1, 2, and 6
Speaker: Pastor Mark Hovermale

Questions:

  1. Read Daniel 1:8. Why was it important for Daniel to immediately
establish that he would not defile himself with the king’s food? How
did this impact his decisions going forward in his life?

  2. What stuck out to you in terms of Daniel’s faithfulness in the various
circumstances in which he found himself?

  3. Daniel trusted in God before God had revealed the solution to him (in
the interpretation of the dream). Where in your life do you need to trust
God even though you don’t yet have an answer?

  4. Daniel was faithful in the place where he found himself to be. Where in
your life do you need to apply this truth?

  5. One of the last main points in the sermon was that “When we
rationalize, we tell rational lies”. Is there an area in your life where you
find yourself more prone to rationalize your actions and behaviors?

  6. What is one or two areas in your life (fear, doubt, circumstances, etc.)
where you need to choose to have faith instead?
