1. Did anything stick out or did you have any questions about the sermon?
2. How can something like deflecting compliments or not acknowledging a skill be a form of false humility or pride?
3. Wolfgang said Herod protected himself, whatever the cost. How does pride make us become self-protectionary or utilitarian of people?
4. Wolfgang said, “how do you respond when you feel threatened? When someone challenges your pride or your status? Do you lash out? Do you power up and demand your way? Someone says something about you, someone challenges or critiques you, is the impulse to fire back? That’s the Herod way” How does that strike you? Have you seen that play out in your life?
5. Wolfgang said, “Jesus redefined greatness, setting an example of a humble servant. Not that we literally wash people’s feet – but we look for ways to serve. We look for ways to meet the needs of others, not simply to leverage our resources for our own benefit. Jesus says – that’s true greatness.” What does that teach us about how we should live?
6. Is there anything God is calling you to have humility in as you approach Christmas?
