OPENING PRAYER

Dear loving and gracious God,
Your blessings are countless,
and your love is never-ending.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week,
we pray that you will open our hearts
to you and one another
so that we may share the gifts you have given us
through loving service to all people.

Grant us joy in our hearts,
and may peace always be with us.
We pray in your Holy Name. Amen.

SERMON

POINT: We have a broken

formula.

POINT:

adaptation is the tendency of people to return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite major positive or negative events or life changes.

POINT: Gratitude is more than just a feeling; it is a conscious

that enhances life through positive actions. It is a way of living.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NRSV - Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Colossians 3:15 NRSV - And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 NRSV - Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Psalm 107:1 NRSV - O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.

1 Chronicles 16:34 NRSV - O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.

*LUKE 17:11-19 NRSV *
On the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was going through the region between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered a village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance, they called out, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were made clean. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. He prostrated himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they? Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.”

POINT: It is not just about what happens to us or what we

, but rather, how we handle those situations and use our resources that truly matters.
