Lesson Overview: I Need Help Relationally
We have been created as relational beings. Relationships are the way we operate. It is not good for us to be alone. We need other people to make the most of life. The problem is that we are broken, and we carry that brokenness into our relational world. We need help in making our relationships work because of this brokenness. God is the only one that can truly fix our brokenness and bring healing to our relational world. In this lesson, we will look a little closer at relationships and how we can find the help we need.
How would you explain the impact that relational unity or chaos has on the rest of your life?
Read Genesis 2:18 and Genesis 4:8,9. What are some of the reasons why relationships can complicate rather than complement our lives?
Explain the connection between a person’s relationship with God, with
himself/herself, and with others.
Read Psalm 51:1-12. How did David restore his relationship with God? How would that have affected his relationship with others he had hurt?
Read Luke 15:17-21. What steps did the Prodigal Son take to repair his relationship with his father? Does this process work in today’s world?
Have you ever experienced relational reconciliation in your own life? How did that happen?
Are you experiencing any relational conflict today and need prayer for that relationship?
Share prayer needs with each other and close your group with prayer.
