No one has impacted the world more than

On the other side of the lake the crowds welcomed Jesus, because they had been waiting for him. Then a man named Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come home with him. His only daughter, who was about twelve years old, was dying. As Jesus went with him, he was surrounded by the crowds.—Luke 8:40-42 (NLT)

In the midst of the crowd, Jesus becomes suddenly focused on the “

.”

A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure. Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped. “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.”—Luke 8:43-45 (NLT)

But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.” —Luke 8:46 (NLT)

Jesus is surrounded by a crowd, and even as he’s focused himself upon seeing Jairus’ daughter, another “

” person has caught Jesus’ attention.

Jesus’ awareness suddenly

in on this one woman.

When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. “Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” —Luke 8:47-48 (NLT)

In her time of need, the woman recognized that she could not

Jesus did life with a zoom lens.—Kyle Idleman

When someone stood in front of Jesus with a need, time seemed to stop and everything else in life seemed to

and into the background.

One at a time is the way Jesus

the world.

God often works by opening a door, revealing a particular need, showing us a person in which we have a real connection, and we can

this one.

A lot of Christ followers have good intentions, but they get

by all those in need.

We can get so preoccupied with the crowd, with the big picture, that we miss the details, the

Jesus looked for the one who needed him

Jesus called the woman “Daughter,” a

Jesus focused on the one, and each time, the
