Discussion Questions
Getting Started
- Although most people accept Jesus Christ as their Savior before the age of 21 (77%), almost 1 of 4 Christians make the commitment as an adult. Why do you think these adults who accept Jesus are more open to the gospel then others? Were you one of them?
Digging Deeper
Do you have any “defining moments” as a child when you started to lose trust in an adult? Meditate on why it is so important to place your trust in God vs people (Is 2:22; Psalm 27:10; 40:4; 118:8-9; 146:3; Jer 17:5-6; Num 23:19).
Study how the “world” tries to make us stumble (Is 5:20; Gal 1:4; 1 John 2:15-16; 5:19; Eph 4:17-24; 6:10-18; James 4:4; Rom 12:2; 2 Tim 3:1-5; 2 Peter 1:4; 2 Cor 4:4; 6:14).
Applying the Word to Life
Since angels are assigned to a child, this shows us how treasured a kid is to God. What can you do this week to make sure you show God how much you treasure your child or grandchild as a precious gift?
Is there anything in your life that could potentially cause your children to stumble? Determine today that you will live the kind of life that will make a smooth path for your child towards Jesus Christ.
If you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher (or someone who has an influence over others), what are you doing to increase a kid’s wisdom (knowledge) and grace (virtue)?
