The Galatians were, in essence, returning to the law. After beginning a life in Jesus by His Spirit, they started reverting back to rules. Why do we do this? Where do you see this tendency in your own life?
Who is a son of God? How do you become a son of God?
How do you feel about being an adopted son of God? Which blessings do you have a hard time embracing and accepting?
What does it mean to be “baptized into Christ” in verse 27?
Instead of the futility of trying to keep the impossible demands of the law, in verse 27 Paul urges believers to “clothe yourselves with Christ” (see Romans 13:14). What would this look like in your life today? How does one do this?
What are the three barriers that Paul mentions in verse 28 that usually divide people? Are you guilty of any of these? How does the gospel create unity?
Are there still biblical distinctions between men and women in marriage and in the roles of men and women in areas of spiritual service? What Bible verses support your answer?
What does it mean to be “heirs according to the promise” in verse 29?
